the North Carolina Coalition for Lobbying and Government Reform
, Tuesday, September 16th from 11am- 12:45pm as Charlotte Mayor
Pat McCrory and Lieutenant Governor Beverly Perdue share their
visions about improving the state's lobbying and ethics laws.
The Coalition will be interested in where the candidates stand
on a variety of ethics and lobbying issues, including:
Curbing
the role of lobbyists in raising campaign contributions
Pushing
for full disclosure of major campaign fundraising
Setting
contribution and fundraising boundaries for members of state
Boards and Commissions
Increasing
the openness of Government meetings and the legislative process
by making copies of bills, amendments, budgets and other information
more readily available to citizens and expanding the broadcast
via the web, radio and television of government meetings
Prohibiting
legislators from soliciting lobbyists for contributions to not
for profit groups
Making
the details of state contracts more open and easily available

Marbles Museum (formerly Exploris) at 201 East Hargett St.,
downtown Raleigh.
Time:
Check-in begins at 10:30 am and the event begins promptly at
11 am.
