If you
would like to know what is happening with the state budget,
with your money when it gets to Raleigh….If you would
like to have some say in what is done with your tax dollars
….
Here are
some things you can do
1. Call or email your Representative and Senator in the North
Carolina General Assembly –

It will offer you several ways to find out who represents you

2. You can find out the correct email address or direct phone
for your legislator by going to the NC
General Assembly’s website
3. Here are some
talking points when you email or call
Tell your legislator or their staff person that you live in
their district
Simply tell your
legislator that you want to be able to know what is going on
in the NC General Assembly especially with the budget. You can
mention any of the points in the letter above or you can stress
any of the points that seem most important to you.
Ask them how they
stand on the budget process.
Ask them what they are doing to make the process more open.
Thank them for their time and let them know that you will check
back with them in the future.
4. Follow up on any
response with an email, call or letter. This will make certain
that they know you are paying attention.
